Educated at Trinity College, Dublin and Queen’s University, Belfast, Mike’s twenty-five year career to date spans many of the key areas of urban regeneration. He is a chartered surveyor and chartered town planner.

He was appointed Director of Development for Laganside Corporation in June 1989 and led the Corporation as Chief Executive from 1997 until 2002 when he joined Titanic Quarter Ltd.

He is Chairman of East Belfast Physical & Economic Regeneration Working Group and a Board member of Investment Belfast.

Harold Pollman is a prominent shopping center developer and community developer in Dallas, Texas. Most recently he has completed a very successful shopping center in suburban Dallas serving the Latino Community in what was once a homogeneous white suburb. His advice over the years has helped a number of students find jobs and get started in business.

Chairman of the Real Estate and Housing Department TU Delft University, The Netherlands.

Professor Hans de Jonge is the chairman of The Brink Group (www.brinkgroep.nl), a group of companies providing management services, consultancy and software products for the real estate and construction market in The Netherlands. He is involved as a consultant in very complex area development and real estate development projects. Before his position with the Brink Group, he held several key positions in companies and government agencies in the real estate and construction industry. From 1991 he holds the chair of Real Estate Management and Housing at the Faculty of Architecture at Delft University of Technology. He was the founder of new education and research programmes aimed at educating a new breed of academics with a basis in design and a specialisation in management. Hans de Jonge is founder and chairman of the Centre for People and Buildings and the Centre for Pocess Innovation in building and construction. He participates in international research consortia and lectures in Europe, Asia, USA and Australia. In 2005 he received the prestigious "Leermeesterprijs", a prize for excellence in leading research and education. ( www.bk.tudelft.nl)

Zvi Barzilay joined Toll Brothers in 1980 and has held various management responsibilities. In 1998 he assumed the positions of President and Chief Operating Officer. Prior to joining Toll Brothers, Zvi was the Chief Center City Planner for the Philadelphia City Planning Commission, was a professor of architecture and urban design, as well as a visiting critic at Princeton University and the University of Pennsylvania Schools of Architecture. Zvi received a Masters in Urban Design/Real Estate Development from Harvard University and a Bachelor in Architecture from the University of Maryland.

Boston's first LEED certified residential project. Developed by the Pappas Companies, the Macallen Building sets a new standard for innovative design and construction methods in the heart of one of Boston's hottest neighborhoods.

We will plan to meet at the construction site at 3pm. Take the Red Line to the Broadway stop. As you come out of the T, you will see the construction site adjacent to the Court Square Press building. We will meet in the sales office, after which Tim Pappas will give us a tour through the project, and answer any questions you may have.

This is a week-long interdisciplinary competition for graduate students in any real estate-related discipline, including urban design, planning, architecture, landscape architecture, business, law, public policy,etc. Teams of 3-5 students must include representation from three different areas of study, including at least one from a non-design-related program.
