Tracy graduated in 2003 from the Master of Design Studies in Real Estate and Urban Development at the Harvard Graduate School of Design. Remaining in Charlotte, North Carolina after receiving her undergraduate degrees in Architecture and Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 1998, she worked as a designer for Shook Design Group. Her architectural experience ranges in the design and construction of small retail spaces to large scale mixed use developments. While working for Shook, she also served on the executive board of two neighborhood associations and on the board of a development corporation.
More recently, Tracy spent the past two years working for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Planning Commission. Here she gained invaluable experience by serving on the project team for the first light rail line in the state, assisting in the creation of new transit oriented zoning districts, guiding developers through the development approval process, and working to initiate several public private development opportunities.
